I have been informed by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) that they are in the process of reconstructing the alley bounded by 11th, 12th, O and P Streets, NW.  According to DDOT standard, they will be using brick to resurface alleys in historic districts, such as Logan Circle.  Please feel free to contact, should you have any questions.
