ANC 2F’s Public Safety Committee (PSC) advises the Commission with respect to matters of public safety within our neighborhood through a lens of harm reduction and accountability. The Committee promotes community engagement with multiple resources in order to create a safe and inclusive neighborhood for visitors and residents. The PSC considers how housing, resources, jobs, and healthcare can be leveraged to make our community safer. The committee may coordinate with local organizations that provide outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness or engaging in sex work or public drug use. The committee may also suggest coordination with government entities like the Metropolitan Police Department, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Mayor’s Office, the DC Council, and the Courts.
