John Guggenmos graduated with Honors from The University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s of Science in English & a Bachelors of Arts in Dramatic English. John moved to Logan Circle July 1989 to work on his Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Development from George Washington University.

After his academic life, John Guggenmos formed a 27-year partnership that owned and operated several nightlife, restaurants & entertainment venues including Tracks Nightclub, Trumpets Restaurant & Lounge, Cobalt, La Fonda Mexican Restaurant & Catering, Ozone Nightclub, Halo, Nation/Velvet Nation, Town Nightclub, Number Nine, and Trade.

Vice President of McWilliams|Ballard, John Guggenmos has worked hands-on with numerous developers throughout Washington, including Adams Investments, Robertson Development, Holiday Corporation, Jair Lynch, Metro Properties, Faison, The Carlyle Group, Linde Development, RWN Development Group, and Miller Development.

As Trader, John is a partner in Trading Algos, LLC. He and his trading partner co-host a live Forex trading & education webinar, which airs three mornings a week, before the New York trading session opens.

A few John’s recent honors include an AIA Award for Nightclub Design, recognized by City Paper among its “Most Interesting People” in Washington DC for 2016, and for the last two year has served on the Board for Questex | Nightclub and Bar

Although this is his first term as an ANC Commissioner, John has previously served on the APC Committee for three years, as well as serving for four years on the ANC 1B ABRA Committee. John also currently serves on the 1B Community Development Committee.
